Sauna Boulevard
The Sauna Boulevard has quite a long history. Újlengyel’s first sauna was a Finnish electric sauna in the main building of Akác-Tanya, and it has been in use for 10 years already. At first the village didn’t intend to give permission to build a sauna, because it was still such a new and strange concept in Hungary.
In 2005 the first „smoke sauna” was built in the Sauna Boulevard. The „smoke sauna” is a newcomer; the Finnish newly discovered favorite is still unknown in Hungary, this is why it has already been on Hungarian television and international media several times.
In 2009, a „hut sauna”, a „tent sauna”, a „clay sauna” and heatable „palju”s (bathing tubs) were built. There are two types of „palju”: the big and the small ones. The small „palju” is an extremely popular and healthy salt bath. There is an outdoor shower next to the „palju”. There is also a hut („kota”) nearby that is great for cooling off and spending the evening.
However, Sauna Boulevard is constantly developing; we are trying to make it a wellness center where you can learn about the natural knowledge of our ancestors about our body, the cleansing of our soul, and new technology that can be used to implement relaxing and pleasant treatments.
The sauna buildings are available for rent also for groups without accommodation for organizing various events. However, the minimum number of people is 10 people.
“Kota sauna” (Hut sauna)
Our newest sauna is a six-person hut sauna, which is also called a hobbit sauna. The hut sauna is located next to the swimming pool and near the outdoor shower, the hut sauna is small and cozy.
“Suolapalju” (The salt bath tub)
“Suolapalju” is the most popular gem of our Sauna Boulevard. Everyone who has tried it once will fall in love with it forever. The salt bath tub has 34-36 degrees water with approx. 26% salt, so you can comfortably float. Salt water has excellent effects on various skin diseases, allergies, asthma, female complaints, joint and muscle pain.
What could be better than after horseback riding, hiking or even a heavy training event, to go through the shower to relax in the warm water with plenty of salt in the evening, looking at the moonlight and the clear sky full of stars, forgetting all the stress of the day?
The salt bath tub is also suitable for small groups and is especially popular for birthday parties. After an evening spent in “Suolapalju”, you will sleep very well and your skin will feel very soft.
“Puusauna” (Wood fire sauna)
Our traditional wood burning sauna was the starting point for establishing Sauna Boulevard. This sauna can also accommodate very small groups. The building also has a changing room, toilets, a massage room and a karaoke room for evening entertainment. This sauna heats up in an hour.
“Savisauna” (Clay sauna)
The clay sauna was built in May 2009 for an international presentation of sauna and wellness products. The builders arrived from Finland: Kalervo Södö and Lassi Helanen are both specialists in clay structures. Lassi also makes ice buildings, but they are a little more difficult to maintain in Hungary.
The structure of the clay sauna is simple. For the reinforcement of the plastering horse manure was used.
Clay and reeds serve as the building material of the sauna. They are ancient building materials that can be found almost everywhere. Our clay sauna is also a smoke sauna; it is heated from the outside for about 3-5 hours. In the smoke sauna you get soft aromatic steam, the healthy effect of which is further strengthened with various herbs and essential oils.
“Savusauna” (Smoke sauna)
The Smoke sauna is perhaps the oldest type of sauna and nowadays a real rarity even in Finland. In this traditional and pleasant environment, the best ideas and plans are born while the body and mind relax.
While the smoke sauna heats up (about 12 hours), a tasty dinner is prepared on the sauna boards, after which the smoke is released and the sauna is ready for use. In the hut next to the sauna you can enjoy the benefits of a smoke sauna. A smoke sauna evening crowns any day, whether you spent it at work or in the company of friends.
