Ópusztaszer

We visit the Ópusztaszer National Historical Park located approx. 70 kilometers south of Újlengyel. In the park you will learn about the early stages of Hungarian history. The impressive panorama-painting Feszty shows the arrival of Hungarians. The museum’s wax dolls vividly present the lifestyles of different eras in Hungary. In the wide outdoor area you can walk and learn about the way of life from ancient times to medieval times. Lunch can be enjoyed in a traditional Hungarian restaurant near the park. If there is still time and interest after exploring the park the journey continues to Szeged, the largest city in southern Hungary, the “sunny capital of Hungary” located on the banks of the Tisza river and right on the Serbian border. The city is famous for its own beauty, its university and its open-air theater in the summer.
